Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Touch down at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Kampala. Enjoy a restful evening at your hotel, prepping for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Transfer to Kasese
Journey to the vibrant town of Kasese, the gateway to the Rwenzori Mountains. Overnight stay at a local lodge, with an evening briefing on the trek.
Day 3: Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut
Begin your trek from Nyakalengija, ascending through lush forests to reach Nyabitaba Hut at 2,652 meters. Get ready for the climb with stunning views and diverse flora.
Day 4: Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut
Continue your ascent through bamboo forests and river crossings, reaching John Matte Hut at 3,414 meters. Marvel at the changing landscape and the enchanting Bujuku River.
Day 5: John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut
Trek to Bujuku Hut, situated at 3,962 meters. Enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Speke and the Bujuku Valley, with ample opportunities for incredible photography.
Day 6: Bujuku Hut to Elena Hut
Climb through the alpine zone to Elena Hut at 4,540 meters. Navigate rocky terrain and prepare for the ultimate summit attempt the next day.
Day 7: Elena Hut to Margherita Peak
Summit day! Begin early to reach Margherita Peak, the highest point of the Rwenzori Mountains at 5,109 meters. Bask in the triumph of your climb before descending back to Elena Hut.
Day 8: Elena Hut to Kitandara Hut
Descend to Kitandara Hut, nestled at 4,023 meters. Pass by stunning glacial lakes and take in the serene beauty of the Kitandara Valley.
Day 9: Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut
Continue your descent to Guy Yeoman Hut at 3,261 meters. Traverse varied landscapes, from rocky paths to lush vegetation zones, offering unique perspectives of the mountains.
Day 10: Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyakalengija
Final descent back to Nyakalengija. Celebrate your successful trek and transfer back to Kasese for a well-deserved rest. Reflect on the incredible journey as you head back to Kampala for your departure.
