Rwanda Gorilla Tours
The Experience

  1. Gorilla Permits: Cost $1,500, ensuring a memorable trek in the natural habitats of these primates. Unlike other destinations, reaching the gorillas involves a manageable 3-4 hour drive.​

  2. Trekking Details: Trekkers must arrive at Kinigi Park Headquarters by 7 AM for a briefing. The trek involves a 30-minute hike into the mountainous forests, reaching altitudes of 8,202 to 13,132 feet above sea level. Here, visitors encounter different gorilla families.​

  3. Photography: Cameras are allowed, but flash photography is prohibited. Follow the rangers' advice for a safe and respectful experience.​

  • Susa Group (Susa A): The largest group, with a rich history studied by Dian Fossey.

  • Sabyinyo Family: Known for its peaceful nature and relatively easy tracking.
